Senior High Youth Group is open to grades 9-12.

Description: Sharing faith with our friends while having fun.

Let's face it – high school is full of pressures:

Pressure of exams, grades, GPA's and SAT's;
Pressure from teachers and parents;
Pressure to make the right choices;
Pressure to choose the right path for your life, the right college, the right job, the right relationships.

Sometimes you just need a place where you can hang your hat with a group of other kids who understand the pressures you face every day – in a place where you know you won't be judged – but instead supported in everything you are going through.

Senior High Youth Group is such a place. We meet together weekly to relax, to help others, to have fun, to share our faith. We are an open group and welcome all who would like to join us!

When and Where: SYG meets every other week on Sunday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the youth room unless posted differently.

SYG's Mission: Senior Youth Group revolves around four components: faith development, fellowship, service and social action. The youth have chosen the theme of ‘Inclusitivity’ this year as we participate in one of the ‘Big Ideas’ put forth by our church’s vision team. We will be challenging ourselves to move out of our comfort zones to test our biases and see where exploring our differences leads. To borrow the words of teen Christian writers Alex and Brett Harris, we aim to “Raise the Bar” and “Do Hard Things” this year. SYG is scheduled to travel to Philadelphia in July to participate in a week long mission where we will lend a hand in soup kitchen and homeless shelters.

The Cookie Walk: Sunday February 5th immediately following service. You’ll need lots of goodies and munchies for that Super Bowl party! SYG has the solution for YOU!!! Cookies are available in small ($5.00) and large ($10.00) containers.

After church, come on down to coffee hour and purchase those delicious cookies that are donated by our SYG families....and YOU! We can’t do it without you! SYG members will be baking about 5 dozen cookies per family! But that STILL won’t be enough! We need the congregation to pull out those old favorite recipes and share them with the rest of us! Please drop off your cookies on your way up to church on Sunday, February 5th

The Annual Pancake Breakfast: Sunday February 19th immediately following service. What would Jazz Sunday be like without the annual pancake breakfast? During the service, you’ll be teased with the aromas of hot pancakes and sausages as they permeate the church. We’ll greet you with fruit juice, coffee and tea and have a scrumptious breakfast ready to serve. Full breakfast is $5.00 per person.
