Christian Education (Sunday School)
at the United Parish of Upton

CALENDAR: Our Sunday School calendar is based on the liturgical year, major religious and secular holidays, and loosely follows the Mendon-Upton Public School Calendar. An overview of our curriculum can be found at http://www.spiritseasons.com

INFANT CARE: Care, for children age 2 and under, begins each Sunday at 9.30 am so that parents have time to settle their child before attending worship.

TODDLERS AND OLDER CHILDREN worship in the Sanctuary for the first part of the service. During this time, children experience fellowship and love from the church family. Children leave for their classrooms after a special "Children's Message."

COMMUNION SUNDAY: The United Parish offers the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of each month. On these Sundays, children in Grades 6 and up join their family for the full Worship Service, 5th graders are brought to the sanctuary for the sacrament.

CONFIRMATION: 2003 - 2004: High School students are invited to join in an exploration of faith through conversation, mission projects, and study with the Pastor and two adult lay leaders. At the end of the confirmation program those students who choose to join the church as adult members will be confirmed into either the United Methodist or United Christian Church. Confirmation is offered every other year.

JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP (grades 6 - 8) meets the 2nd & 3rd Sunday Of each month, at 9:45 AM in the Parlor. With the guidance of their teachers, the group plans its own course of religious study and service projects so that they can discuss and act on the issues of THEIR world from THEIR faith perspective.

SENIOR YOUTH GROUP (grades 9 -12) meets several times a month on Sunday evenings for faith fellowship and fun.
