The United Parish offers exciting educational and faith building programs for Youth in grades 6 through 12.Our dedicated leaders provide spiritual guidance as kids explore their faith with their peers through open discussion, and then apply their faith in the world around them, both locally and globally. Through our various programs, children are given an opportunity to ask faith questions, to build self esteem and ultimately to grow in their relationship with God.

Youth Groups

Junior Youth Group: During worship time on Sundays at 9:45am youth in grades 6 through 8 meet in the youth room upstairs in Memorial Hall. See the JYG link for more information.

Senior Youth Group: Meetings are held most weeks at the United Parish on Sunday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm for youth in grades 9 through 12. See the SYG link for more information.

Special programs for Youth

Youth Sunday: Every other year the United Parish Youth create an original worship service, the goal of which is to share the Good News and create a meaningful worship experience, allowing members of the congregation to witness faith through a young person's eyes. This program offers youth the experience of creating a worship service from scratch, as well as a chance to be the teachers for one Sunday. Youth Sunday is truly a moving experience for all involved.

Confirmation: Students in the 9th grade and up are invited to join in an exploration of faith through conversation, mission projects, and study with the Pastor and two adult lay leaders. The group meets Sundays after worship from October through May. At the end of the program those students who choose to will be confirmed into either the Methodist or UCC Communion. Confirmation is offered every other year.

The United Parish Continuing Education Scholarship Application: Now available for all graduating Seniors. Acceptance will be based on financial need, church attendance, youth group participation, community involvement and grade point average. Please see the Christian Education Director, Heather OToole for an application. The deadline for submission is March 31.
